A short throw projector can fill a large impact screen from just a few feet away, which keeps it clear of your swing, and enough brightness keeps the picture readable even with a light or two on. Short Throw Keeps You Out of the Shot
BenQ's golf projectors use short throw ratios, generally around 0.7 to 0.9 depending on the model. That lets you mount the projector on the ceiling behind you or just overhead, out of the way of your backswing. Golf Mode and True-to-Course Color
Many of the newer models include BenQ's Golf Mode, a one-click color preset that covers up to 95% of the Rec.709 color range. In plain terms, the grass looks like grass and the sky looks right, so the course on your screen matches what you would see standing on the tee. Select models also add setup helpers like Auto Screen Fit, Screen Fill, and Quick Focus, which align the image to your screen and sharpen it without you climbing a ladder or measuring anything.
LED or Laser: Two Ways to Light the Screen
The collection covers both light sources. LED models like the LH600ST and AH30ST are the friendlier entry point, run cool, and last for years with no lamp to replace. Laser models like the LU710, LU935ST, and LK936ST push more brightness and sharper contrast, and the 4K options such as the LK936ST and AK700ST give you the most detailed picture for bigger screens and dedicated rooms. Both light sources far outlast old lamp-based projectors, so you are not buying replacement bulbs every season.
Matching a Projector to Your Space
The right pick comes down to your ceiling height, how far the projector will sit from the screen, your screen size, and your budget. A compact basement bay has different needs than a wide, dedicated sim room.
