Every Scout ships with a battery choice, and the tradeoff is straightforward. The Lead Acid Battery costs less, weighs about 15 pounds, and lasts two to three years before it needs replacing. The Lithium Battery cuts that weight by roughly two-thirds, recharges in about five hours, and is built to last four to six years, backed by a longer pro-rated warranty. If weight and longevity matter more to you than upfront cost, lithium is the one worth the extra spend.

How do you prevent the cart from rolling backwards or forward on a hilly course, I see no manual brake to hold the cart.

There is not a "brake" as such on the Hill Billy USA, however when going down a steep hill reverse the trolley and switch off the power. This will give a slight braking affect for control and will do no harm to the trolley.
