ProTee United

ProTee United has been building indoor golf technology out of the Netherlands since 2001, which makes it one of the longer-standing names in a young category. The company runs two sides of the business, hardware and software, and it shows in how the gear works. The ceiling-mounted ProTee VX launch monitor reads every shot with dual high-speed cameras, feeds it straight into simulation software, and does it without charging you an annual subscription. Because it mounts overhead, nothing sits in your swing path, and right and left-handed players can trade places without moving anything. This collection covers the ProTee United gear we carry at Big Horn Golfer. You can buy the VX on its own, add TGC 2019 simulator software or ball strike insurance, or go with a complete package that pairs the VX with a bay, screen, mat, and projector, in sizes from 8x10.5 up to 9x12 plus a retractable studio option. Not sure whether to build piece by piece or buy it all at once? Compare below, or reach out and we'll help you work it out.

Two Decades of Dutch Engineering

ProTee United has been working on indoor golf since 2001, which in a category this young makes it one of the established names. The company is built in two halves: one side develops the hardware, the other develops the software, so the launch monitor and the simulation it feeds are designed together rather than bolted together after the fact. That shows up in a product line focused on doing one thing properly instead of covering a wide catalog.

Overhead by Design

The ProTee VX mounts to your ceiling rather than sitting on the floor beside you, and that solves several problems at once. Nothing sits in your swing path, nothing needs repositioning between shots, and right and left-handed players can step in and hit without anyone moving hardware. It reads each shot with dual high-speed cameras and machine vision, so the numbers come back in milliseconds and what happens on screen matches what you just did. For a permanent simulator room, overhead is the cleaner install.

No Subscription Fees

This one is worth calling out because it is unusual. Plenty of simulator platforms charge you every year to keep playing. ProTee does not. Once the hardware is yours it stays yours, and the ongoing cost of owning the system is not a recurring line on your card. Over the life of a home simulator, that difference adds up.

Buy the Monitor, or the Whole Room

This is where the collection splits. You can buy the ProTee VX launch monitor on its own and pair it with an enclosure, screen, mat, and projector you pick yourself. Or you can take one of the complete packages, which bundle the VX with everything needed to play, in 8x10.5 and 9x12 sizes depending on your room. There is also a DIY simulator bay package for a more hands-on build, and a version paired with the SportScreen retractable golf studio if you want a setup that folds away when you are not using it.

Software and Ball Strike Protection

The VX runs with simulation software including TGC 2019, available here separately, which opens up a large library of courses. Worth knowing: because the unit hangs above the hitting area, a badly struck shot can reach it. The housing is built with that in mind, and we also carry a one-year ball strike insurance option, which is a sensible add-on if you plan to swing hard and often.

Not Sure Which Route Fits Your Room?

The gap between buying a launch monitor and buying a full package is a big one, and the right answer comes down to your ceiling height, your room dimensions, and how much of the build you want to handle yourself. Our team has over 50 years of combined experience in the golf business, and we are glad to get on a one-on-one call to weigh that decision against your actual space. Reach out any time, and we'll help you land on a setup you will still be happy with in a few years.

Top questions about our ProTee United collection

Does this fit the Mevo plus?

It does! Just select the Mevo+ option.

I currently have the TGC 2019 lifetime package for Skytrak. I am looking in to upgrading to a Protee VX system. Is this transferable to the Protee VX?

It is! We can help take care of that for you

Since the monitor is only 3 feet away from the screen, doesn’t it get hit when using your wedges.

The monitor is farther than 3’ from the screen
It’s 3’ in front of the hitting area
Which depending on space is likely 9’ from the screen

What type of protection does the ProTee VX have for its enclosure. Is it Polycarbonate over the lens?

That's correct! We know that a couple of manufacturers are working on making a cover to go over the unit to protect it. However, a lot of testing has to be done to ensure it doesn't reduce the statistics. We also offer a 1-year ball strike insurance! This limited warranty does not cover any damage due to accident, misuse, outdoor use, abuse, or negligence.
