Top questions about our The SportScreen Retractable Golf Impact Screen collection

Does the SGS11 come with hardware necessary to attach to a 12 ft ceiling?

  • Yes, The SGS11 does require 132” of space, though I looked into this and due to them having 130” only 2” shy they can position the brackets a certain way to accommodate for the narrower dimension, below are the adjustments that would need to be made
  • The front screens black angle brackets would need to slide nearly against the wall and use the channel of the 24” aluminum piece for its mounting (see attached images showing standard mount versus the adjusted – note the placement of the nuts in the channels).
  • The side screens would have to remain in position so the projectable image may shrink by an inch on either side.
  • The ceiling we provide has multiple grommets so the ceiling can be tensioned with the reduced width using the narrowest grommet placements.
  • Screen is included

Is there are no extra cost for the shorter brackets?

The Vanish Series (formerly known as SGS) comes with standard brackets which have the below lengths and quantities which enables wall or ceiling mounting.

4 x 28” Aluminum Piece
4 x 24” Aluminum Piece
4 x 11.5” Aluminum Piece

The connection between the side rollers and the screen, and whether there is velcro. Additionally, the presence of weight at the bottom and whether the product is attached to the floor.

Our side screens, front screen, and ceiling panels are all joined together using our baffle and corner protection pieces. This means that once the screens are positioned down they are joined with Velcro and the baffle components to bridge all gaps. Therefore, the customer is left with a fully enclosed simulator enclosure and the ball cannot escape.

  • As for the weight at the bottom, our side screens have a steel bar which weighs them down to tension the screen and reduce any ball bounce back. The front screen has a fibreglass bar to tension it while being durable enough that it can absorb the impact of a ball and not allow bounce back. In front of the front screen is the impact screen which has bungee cables to tension the screen again minimizing any impact points for bounce back or allowing the ball to exit the enclosure. These bungees are fastened to the floor via d-clips which are provided with the impact screen.

What is the difference between SGS16 and SGS16H?

They are the same price as they are virtually the same, only one slight difference which is where the Velcro is located on our impact screen. On the SGS16 it is 91” up from the floor and on the SGS16H it is 103”. Everything else is the same. The reason this change is important is that it allows the product (SGS16H) to get mounted a foot higher than the normal SGS16, which as a result maximizes the 16:9 projection ratio.
